Trustheat appointed by
City of York Council

Following the recent major flood event in York, the council are using Trustheat's solution to quickly dry 59 flooded properties.

Following a a recent site visit, Trustheat have been appointed by City of York Council to dry 59 flooded properties throughout the city.

Spread across multiple locations, our drying programme is set to signficantly reduce the time and cost of the flood recovery schedule by using co-ordinated evaporation drying systems as part of a carefully scheduled, finite programme of works. Managing director Oliver Townend notes:

"Working closely with the CYC team, we have developed a programme that will reduce the stress and disruption for residents after what has been a difficult Christmas and new year for many in York."
"Our work with the council clearly demonstrates the benefits of using evaporation drying following a surge event. With multiple systems deployed and reduced strip-out and reinstatement, we look forward to significantly reducing the time and cost of the recovery programme."

Fixed price and time

Our solution will only require a four day, finite drying programme per property, allowing the efficient scheduling of the other contractors involved within the programme.

The adjacent nature of many of the properties will allow us to use single systems to dry two homes simultaneously, with our self-powered systems neatly solving problems relating to the use of the residential power supply.

By proving a fixed price per property, we have helped CYC forecast a far more accurate quantum than would have been possible with the dehumidifier drying services that were initially proposed by other contractors.

'Soft strip' reduces restoration costs

Full expecting that a sizeable amount of strip out would be required, CYC were delighted to learn that we could non-invasively dry solid floors and walls with non-breathable coatings, providing a second major advantage that would not be feasible without evaporation drying.

By eliminating the unnecessary strip out required with dehumidifier drying, the restoration schedule has already been significantly reduced in both time and cost for CYC, and with it the overall carbon footprint of the project.

05/2016 - UPDATE: We dried 59 properties in just 47 days, with each property dried on schedule, and on budget....
